These grape pips along with cultivated grain were found in the palaeobotanical material discovered in the prehistoric dwellings dating from the 6th - 5th millennia BC excavated at the village of Shulavery, in the Mtkvari River valley, Georgia.
These grape pips belong to Vitis vinifera, a cultivated variety of grape vines, which means that the inhabitants of these parts in the 6th – 5th millennia BC had already learnt the secrets of plant selection and farming. |
